4 kanals of prime government land retrieved at Srinagar’s Rawalpora area
SRINAGAR, FEBRUARY 26: A team of Revenue officers led by Tehsildar Chanpora Mubashir Amin Wednesday demolished illegal structures and retrieved 4 kanals of government land at Rawalpora area of Srinagar.
In another drive against illegal encroachments, an illegal building under construction at Lawaypora area of the district was sealed by Tehsildar Eidgah and demolition process started.
The building was being constructed on government land. Land was also retrieved during the process.
It was informed that the role of departments owning land and enforcement officials is being examined for initiating action against them.
The Revenue department has issued strict warnings against attempts of illegal constructions and encroachments in the district warning of strict legal action against encroachers.
Publication of names of encroachers has also been started with directions to remove encroachments failing which expenses involved in retrieval of land will be recovered as arrears of land revenue.
