DC Kulgam reviews preparedness, 24×7 control room established

KULGAM, MARCH 10: The Deputy Commissioner, Kulgam, Showkat Aijaz Bhat today chaired a meeting of officers to review arrangements put in place to tackle the Corona Virus threat in the district.

The meeting was attended by ADDC, ADC, JD-Planning, CMO, MS District Hospital, CEO, BMOs, EOs and other concerned.

During the meeting the DDC reviewed  various arrangements which have been  put in place including surveillance teams, functioning of 24×7 control room, availability of  quarantine facility, availability of masks and other related issue.

It was given out that 24×7 Control Room has been established under the supervision of ADC to tackle any kind of untoward situation on Corona virus spread and for its effective prevention.

The DDC sought cooperation from civil society members in disseminating information regarding prevention of Corona Virus infection.

CEO was asked to aware students about Do’s and Don’ts besides holding awareness session about the prevention measures to combat the Corona Virus in schools.

The DC also asked the concerned officials to prepare a list of the persons who are presently outside the valley and who have recently returned from other countries especially from Corona Virus affected countries, so that they can be put under surveillance. He also directed the concerned to involve village heads, Aasha workers and pathwaris for this purpose.

The surveillance committees and teams constituted at district, block and village level were directed to monitor the persons returning from corona hit countries and share the data with regard to the matter including Quarantine and isolation, with the District Control Room.

The DDC directed the concerned to inspect the pharmacies to check the prices of masks and other essentials and take strict action against the hoarders.

Meanwhile the residents of the District were requested to come forward and share their travel history with the district administration especially if they have been returned to India from abroad after January 15, even if there are no visible flu like symptoms.
