After the virus spread
Administration in Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir has taken number of steps to combat the spread of Covid-19 virus here. Already in different hospitals, many suspects are being investigated by the doctors including the lady who tested positive. According to the doctors she is stable and has told people not to go by the rumours and only bank on the official version of such cases.
Government recently ordered two investigations in the recent past to know why the earlier instructions of precautions were not adhered to in Kashmir valley. Media reports have suggested that the woman who has tested positive was allowed to move out of airport without any tests as she was a close relative of a senior police officer of Jammu and Kashmir police.
Similarly authorities have also ordered a probe as four foreign tourists could make it to Srinagar city even after authorities imposed ban on the arrival of foreign tourists to Kashmir. A senior police officer told media that the tourists two of them hailing from Italy were sent back but probe has been ordered how they reached Srinagar without being stopped at any place.
Nodal Officer for coronavirus at SKIMS told media that they have collected the samples of all the persons who had primary contact with the patient who tested positive. Earlier some fake videos and rumors were making round in Srinagar city that she died in the hospital and no one was coming forward to bury her due to the fear of infection.
People of Srinagar city should wait for the official version of all such cases and should not believe any fake video or news about the spread of the disease in the city. So far officials have only confirmed one case in Srinagar while the tests of many suspects have been negative while many other cases were being investigated and their tests are awaited.
