Jammu, June 26 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party (JKAP) senior leader and former MLC Vijay Bakaya on Friday appealed to the Lieutenant Governor’s led administration to notify fresh dates for interviews of Junior Coaches in Jammu and Kashmir.

“Lt Governor’s administration should immediately notify fresh dates of interview as directed by the Hon’ble High Court and issue selection orders without further delay,” Bakaya demanded.

In a statement issued to KNS, he said: “This is a case of mindless casualness and playing with the future of qualified youth who had won laurels in the field of sports as well and would be an asset in the field of youth welfare.”

Earlier, talking to the delegation, the JKAP leader observed that the government must address the burgeoning unemployment in Jammu and Kashmir and refrain from creating hurdles for the skilled unemployed youth from earning a dignified livelihood.

JKAP leader and former minister Manjit Singh besides party leader Vikram Malhotra were also present during the meeting.

The delegation, appraised the JKAP senior leaders about the problems being faced by the Junior Coaches across Jammu and Kashmir.

The Junior Coaches said that their interviews have been delayed despite an order from the High Court of April 5, 2019 directing the Government to conduct interviews within four months.

The delegation briefed the JKAP leaders that the eligible candidates had also applied once and appeared for the interview, but the result of the interviews is still withheld. “We are told that the records had been misplaced,” the delegation appraised JKAP leaders.

“With the intervention of the High Court fresh interviews were notified, but again these interviews were also postponed for unknown reasons,” the delegation added. (KNS)
