Mainstream struggle
The latest party to hint for the political struggle to restore the special status of jammu and Kashmir is the People’s Conference headed by Sajad Gani Lone.
In his first party meeting held after his release from the detention he told his colleagues that the strgulle for the restoration of article 370 would be united and peaceful.
He also hinted that it would be a political struggle on the streets in a peaceful manner rather than only moving to the Supreme Court to get justice. Many of the National Conference leaders in the recent past have expressed hope that they have a strong case in the Supreme court and all the decisions taken by the central government regarding the article 370 and 35A would not stand before the court.
Such leaders have opposition not only from PDP and PC but also from within when their senior leader from North Kashmir recently said that all the writ petitions regarding article 370 should be withdrawn as people have little hope and faith that justice would be given to them by the court.
He was talking in context of the recent decision by the Special Court of CBI, which gave a clean chit to all the accused persons and most of them are the senior leaders of BJP.
Babri verdict has not only evaporated faith among the Muslims but also has left a lot of questions in Kashmir valley if at all they should go for a judicial fight for the restoration of article 370.
