Mehbooba’s departure
Mehbooba Mufti has departed from the earlier stand of her party and has now demanded not only the restoration of article 370 but also the resolution of Kashmir dispute.
She said in her press conference that those people who feel that Kashmiri leadership will abandon its path of resistance were mistaken.
Demanding the JK constitution back along with flag and other privileges for the people of Jammu and Kashmir Mehbooba made it clear unless it is not restored Kashmiri leadership is not going to participate in any elections.
“A robber may be mighty but he has to return the stolen goods. They demolished the constitution… Parliament had no power to take away special status of Jammu and Kashmir, Mehbooba said and added that the country can only run on the basis of constitution and blamed the BJP government for demolishing all the pillars of constitution.
She said that people of Jammu and Kashmir have conditionally acceded with the Union of India, a liberal and secular country. Mehbooba said that instead of respecting the constitution BJP was trying to run the country on their manifesto.
She dubbed BJP as a communal and intolerable party and said that their power will not remain forever. She compared BJP with Hitler and other autocrats and said that their days are numbered and a new political system would be in place. Mehbooba acknowledged that their struggle for restoration of article 370 was striven with difficulties and challenges but expressed hope that they will continue this struggle at all costs.
