COVID-19: Six more patients die; 470 test positive in J&K
Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday recorded six deaths due to COVID-19 taking the death toll to 1,761 in the Union Territory while as 470 positive cases were reported taking the tally of positive cases to 114,038 in J&K.
Of the exact number of 114,038 cases, 67,558 are from Kashmir and 46,480 from Jammu division. Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that among 470 new cases, 193 belong to Kashmir division while as 277 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 67,558 including 63,892 recoveries and 1,133 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 46,480 including 43,390 recoveries and 628 deaths.
The officials said that total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 4,995 including 2,533 from Kashmir division and 2,462 from Jammu division. With 524 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 107,282 which is 94.07 percent of the total cases.
“Cases tested positive in J&K include 74 from Srinagar, 21 from Baramulla, 43 from Budgam, 20 from Kupwara, 10 from Pulwama, 07 from Anantnag, 06 from Bandipora, 12 from Ganderbal, 00 from Kulgam and 00 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 277 from Jammu division include 161 from Jammu, 21 from Udhampur, 24 from Rajouri, 13 from Doda, 13 from Kathua, 14 from Kishtwar, 16 from Samba, 03 from Poonch, 09 from Ramban and 03 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.
Notably, in the last 24 hours six persons who were tested positive for COVID-19 have died, among them three belong to Kashmir division and three to Jammu division.
As per media bulletin, patients who have died include one each from Budgam, Kupwara and Anantnag in Kashmir division and one each from Doda, Kuthua and Ramban in Jammu division.
As per officials figures, 23,825 positive cases including 427 deaths and 22,240 recoveries are from Srinagar, 7,626 including 165 deaths and 7,291 recoveries are from Baramulla, 7,172 including 6,765 recoveries and 104 deaths are from Budgam, 5,290 including 5,009 recoveries and 86 deaths are from Kupwara, 5,217 including 86 deaths and 4,961 recoveries are from Pulwama, 4,627 including 4,430 recoveries and 81 deaths are from Anantnag, 4,498 cases including 4,323 and 55 deaths are from Bandipora, 4,298 including 4,094 recoveries and 40 deaths are from Ganderbal, 2,614 including 2,501 recoveries and 52 deaths are from Kulgam and 2,391 including 2,278 recoveries and 37 deaths are from Shopian.
In Jammu division, 21,665 including 20,522 recoveries and 318 deaths are from Jammu district, 3,857 including 3,401 recoveries and 52 deaths are from Udhampur, 3,632 including 3,355 recoveries and 50 deaths are from Rajouri, 3,242 including 3,013 recoveries and 58 deaths are from Doda, 2,924 including 2,776 recoveries and 43 deaths are from Kathua, 2,616 including 2,367 recoveries and 21 deaths are from Kishtwar, 2,585 including 2,296 recoveries and 33 deaths are from Samba, 2,413 including 2,351 recoveries and 22 deaths are from Poonch, 2,004 including 1,898 recoveries and 21 deaths are from Ramban and 1,542 including 1,411 recoveries and 10 deaths are from Reasi.
As per the daily information bulletin, 811,256 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 21,954 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 4,995 persons are in isolation. According to the bulletin, 754,195 persons have completed surveillance period and 28,351 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 3,218,875samples are available.
Out of 3,218,875 the number of samples tested negative stands at 3,104,837 while as 114,038 have tested positive, among them 4,995 persons are active, 107,282 persons have recovered and 1,761 persons have died—(KNO)
