How to move?
While there are internal rumblings within the PAGD after the one of its important units Peoples Conference walked out from this political platform saying that there was breach of trust between the units and it was visible during the DDC elections.
There is not all well within the PAGD as the PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti has tried to play it down and said that DDC elections do not matter and they have come together under the umbrella of PAGD for the larger cause of restoration of article 370.
Recently during a visit to Jammu region, Mehbooba Mufti said that Kashmir issue was neither religious nor a law-and-order problem as projected by the ruling BJP but completely political with its origin in a series of betrayals with the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
“The resolution of this issue has to go through the roadmap proposed and implemented by the People’s Democratic Party during its short stints in power. There is no alternative to the Mufti Muhammad Sayeed’s vision of peace with dignity and the agenda of PDP is more relevant today than ever,” she was quoted in the media saying during the public meeting.
Mehbooba described August 5, 2019, the day when the BJP removed Article 370, as the darkest day in Indian history. She said the Union government will have to restore the special status of Jammu and Kashmir with all its safeguards and said that she is going to fight this long struggle at any cost with whatever the consequences.
