Finally peace
Will there be finally peace and tranquility in Jammu and Kashmir as India and Pakistan have decided to go for a ceasefire agreement and the newspaper reports suggest that both countries will hold further negotiations so that they live like neighbors.
The people of Jammu and Kashmir will benefit from such friendship of India and Pakistan and most of the politicians here are happy that there is some forward movement for the peace to prevail.
During the height of hostility former chief minister Mehbooba Mufti has advocated dialogue between India and Pakistan and has said that the unending violence will only stop if both the countries decide to settle their issues including Kashmir.
They have said that the agreement between the DGMOS of India and Pakistan will go a long way in ushering long-lasting peace alongside LOC.
The National Conference in its statement said that it has always been a strong votary of Indo-Pak peace. It is the people of Jammu and Kashmir that have been facing the brunt of escalating tensions alongside the borders.
Dr. Farooq Abdullah who is sitting MP from Srinagar while reacting to the fresh agreement between India and Pakistan said that profound negative impact of the animosity between the two neighboring countries was faced by the people who lived alongside the border on LOC, IB.
