Assurances by government
During the second wave of covid pandemic, the government of Jammu and Kashmir have assured people that they were fully equipped to deal with the increasing number of patients and have appealed to people not to fall prey to the rumours.
The government has said that they were trying to educate people about the importance of vaccination, wearing masks; adhering to the Sop’s in order to save themselves from this infection.
Apart from the authorities it is the responsibility of society to be a part of such efforts in order to help the health authorities to control this second wave of covid-19 especially in Srinagar city.
Government has recently said that they have one crore twenty lakh doses ordered for vaccination of 18 to 45 age-groups in Jammu and Kashmir. Many Oxygen generation plants have become operational and remaining will also start functioning soon, is the assurance from the authorities.
Government has further claimed that availability of oxygen is more than double the requirement. We have 54,500 cubic metres of oxygen against the present consumption i.e 25,000 cubic metres, besides 15,000 cubic metres more will be added to the count in coming days, the Lt Governor maintained.
People of Kashmir valley have already complained to the media outlets that there is shortage of medicines and oxygen along with oxygen concentrators for the covid positive patients.
