Robust Public Distribution System
In order to provide good grains for the general public in Jammu and Kashmir the government is trying to streamline the distribution system so that maximum people get the benefits of public distribution done by the government.
In this direction recently LG Manoj Sinha has directed the concerned public distribution system department for streamlining distribution chain, 100% Aadhaar seeding of beneficiaries, rationalizing availability of quality food grains for maximum benefit to citizens of Jammu and Kashmir.
When the population would be Aadhaar linked with the public distribution system it would be a real streamlining of the system as the distribution would be transparent.
At present Jammu and Kashmir government through its Public Distribution System is reaching out to One Crore people with ration through a network of 6738 ration shops operating on online public distribution system, making it more transparent.
Ration distribution in the rural areas especially in the hilly areas of Jammu and Kashmir has been a challenge for the administration and now with the streamlining of the system, even in these areas the Public Distribution System is becoming online thus bringing the benefits to the villages and to the hilly areas.
Ration distribution previously has been a big challenge in the hilly areas and now with the online system, this challenge is longer there as more and more people who were having now access to the government ration are getting the benefits now.
