DDC Anantnag reviews pace/ progress of ongoing work projects by various departments

Directs implementing agencies to complete developmental works before winter

ANANTNAG, OCTOBER 22: The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Anantnag, Dr Piyush Singla today chaired a review meeting of all major departments, here to review the pace/ progress of various ongoing projects by various departments.

The DDC directed all the departments to expedite execution of pending works before winter and complete all ongoing works within set timeframe. He laid emphasis on effective implementation of all Centrally Sponsored Schemes and asked the officers to ensure timely dissemination of benefits of welfare schemes to the people.

Highlighting the need for public dissemination of information, Dr Singla directed the officers to have a ready reference of targets of various schemes, achievements, number of beneficiaries, enrollment, funds disbursed, etc.

Reviewing winter preparedness measures of various departments, the DDC directed the power department to ensure there is minimal disruption in supply of electricity to reduce inconvenience to the common people.

District officers from various departments apprised the DDC of their targets and achievements so far. There was threadbare discussion on implementation of centrally sponsored schemes including Ladli Beti, MGNREGA, Jal Jeevan Mission. Timelines for completion of developmental projects under execution were also discussed.

Officers from the banking sector presented the achievements under the district credit plan. The DC directed the banks to ensure smooth credit flow to the priority sector. He underlined the importance of hassle free credit to the agriculture sector and entrepreneurs to create employment opportunities.

The meeting among others was attended by ADDC Anantnag, SE Hydraulics, SE R&B, SE JKPDD, CPO Executive Engineers and other district and sectoral officers.
