CSSs in Kashmir
There are dozens of centrally sponsored schemes (CSSs) being implemented in Jammu and Kashmir and they are being monitored not only by the J&K administration but also by the Union Government through its officers.
In a mega outreach recently the Union Government has dispatched dozens of ministers to Jammu and Kashmir in order to monitor pace of schemes and also overall development here.
Recently Union Commissioner Agriculture, Horticulture was in Jammu and Kashmir and reviewed implementation of various CSSs in Kashmir
He convened a meeting of the Agriculture Department at Lalmandi, here to review the progress made under various centrally sponsored schemes (CSSs) and other flagship programmes under implementation in Kashmir.
The government of Jammu and Kashmir informed the Union Commissioner of various initiatives that are being executed by the Department in the valley. He was presented with a detailed overview of various CSSs and flagship programmes under implementation here.
The Director gave a detailed blueprint of various initiatives and said that the Department has focused on various initiatives including organic vegetable cultivation, mushroom cultivation, introduction of exotic vegetables, bringing more and more area under mainstream agriculture, revival of saffron sector and its introduction to newer areas and marketing platforms, bringing uncovered areas under oilseed cultivation, women and youth empowerment through different agriculture schemes, backyard and urban agriculture etc.
