Kulgam Attack: Police produces chargesheet before NIA court
Police have produced a chargesheet before NIA court in connection with a militant attack on police personnel in 2020 near Behibagh Police Station in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district. The chargesheet names two militants who have already been killed in two gunfights and a militant associate.
As per police chargesheet, in the last week of November in 2020, unknown militants fired upon a police party near police station Behibagh in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district and after the exchange of fire, militants taking advantage of darkness escaped from the spot.
Police accordingly registered an FIR vide number 3/20 under section 7/25, 27 Arms Act, 13,16,18,20,23 UAPA and started investigation.
As per police, during the course of investigation of the instant case, it came to fore that two Lashkar-e-Taiba militants namely Amir Ahmad Mir and Amir Manzoor Ganie were involved in the act.
Further investigation according to police revealed the involvement of one militant associate namely Suhail Ahmad who was nabbed by police accordingly along with arms and ammunition.
The two militants whose names surfaced during the investigation have already been neutralized.
Police said that the chargesheet regarding the case has been produced before the NIA court in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district. (KNT)
