India to kickstart West Indies tour with two Tests
India will kickstart their West Indies tour with two Tests, Cricket West Indies confirmed on Monday (June 12) while announcing the schedule. As reported by Cricbuzz previously, the two Test matches, beginning on July 12 and July 20 will be played in Dominica and Trinidad.
These two Tests will be India’s first assignment in the World Test Championship for the next cycle. The teams will then play three ODIs and five T20Is following the conclusion of the Test series. The first two ODIs will be played in Barbados on July 27 and July 29.
The teams will then move to Trinidad for the final ODI and the first T20I with Guyana slated to host the next two T20Is. Like Cricbuzz reported earlier, India and West Indies will then fly to Florida in the United States to play the final T20Is and conclude the tour.
“We are delighted to be able to confirm the schedule and venues for the highly anticipated visit by India,” Johnny Grave, CEO of CWI, said. “One of the highlights will be the 100th Test at the Queen’s Park Oval and this promises to be a fantastic occasion as we celebrate this historic event between these two proud cricketing nations.”
