Sankalp Saptaah celebrated enthusiastically across the Aspirational Blocks of Srinagar
Samriddhi Diwas (Livelihood) observed on Day 6th of week long activities
SRINAGAR, OCTOBER 08:- As part of the Sankalp Saptaah initiative launched on 30th September by Hon’ble Prime Minister at New Delhi, the aspirational blocks of Harwan and Khonmoh in Srinagar, have been organising a slew of activities since 3rd of October, 2023.
As part of the week-long programme, all departments in the district have been actively engaged in organising events in the two blocks with enthusiastic participation of the citizens. Day 1 of the event on 3rd October,2023 was marked by Health camps under the Sampoorna Swasthya-Ek Sankalp theme where screening tests and immunization drives were undertaken. Day 2 and Day 3 were marked by Suposhit-Pariwar Poshan melas (Nutrition) and Swachhta Ek Sankalp (Cleanliness) respectively, where citizens were made aware about the importance of nutrition and cleanliness. While Krishi mahotsav (Agriculture) was celebrated through awareness on agricultural schemes and extension programmes on Day 4, the education department left no stone unturned in organising essay competitions and sensitisation drives in schools as part of Shiksha Ek Sankalp (education) on Day 5.
On Day 6, with a view to ensure benefits of Centrally sponsored schemes percolate to the beneficiaries, Series of activities mark Sankalp Saptah under Thematic Area of Samriddhi Diwas(Livelihood) at Harwan and Khonmoh Panchayat Blocks of the Srinagar.
The programmes were held on the directions of the Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz Asad to sensitize the people about benifits of different schemes.
During the programmes, an Awareness Rally on PM Vishwakarma Scheme was held by Handloom Department to raise awareness about a Central Sector Scheme recently Launched by the Prime Minister.
During the Rally participants raised the awareness about PM Vishwakarma scheme envisages provisioning of the benefits to the Artisans and Craftspersons by Recognition, Skill Upgradation, Toolkit Incentives, Credit Support, Incentives for Digital Transaction and Market Support.
In addition, potential beneficiaries were made aware of other Govt run schemes to ensure effective targeting and scheme saturation in line with GoI objectives.
Similarly, Schemes of NRLM as well as Handicrafts Department like Karkhandar and Artisan support schemes were also stressed upon. During the programmes, various Handicrafts items were showcased in the form a fair.
Likewise, Training module on digital and financial literacy to upcoming budding entrepreneurs was also imparted. The need for business plan development was stressed through business competition. Marketing and linkage needs were focused.
The programmes as part of Sankalp Saptaah were held under the supervision of General Manager DIC, Hamida Akhtar, Assistant Director Handloom, Mohsina Irshad, BDO Khonmoh Shivam Chandra, District Coordinator NRLM, Zahoor Ahmad.
