Gas Cylinder Blast at Kupwara Jail: Injured Inmate Succumbs
SRINAGAR: An inmate from Sopore dies after he was injured in Kupwara jail gas cylinder blast
A senior official said that a gas cylinder explosion at Kupwara sub jail on June 19 left nine inmates injured.
All were promptly hospitalized, but one inmate, identified as Shahnawaz Ahmad Shah, succumbed to his injuries Monday morning.
Shah, son of Sujah Ahmad from Dangerpora Sopore, was implicated in case FIR No. 04/2024 PS Tarzoo under sections 8/21,22,29 of the NDPS Act.
Investigations into the explosion, attributed to a cooking gas cylinder, are ongoing. (KS)
