SRINAGAR: The District Election Office Srinagar has established a single window permission system in accordance with the guidelines of the Election Commission of India for the upcoming assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir.

Officials said that following the poll body’s guidelines, the District Election Officer Srinagar has set up this system for the convenience of all parties, including political ones.

The system has been introduced to streamline the process of seeking permission for various election-related activities, and a nodal officer has been designated to manage this.

Candidates and political parties can now submit their permission applications for election-related activities at a single window, rather than approaching different departments separately.

The official noted that this system simplifies the process by allowing all applications to be submitted at one place.

The assembly elections in J&K are scheduled to be held in three phases: the first on September 18, the second on September 25, and the third on October 1. The results will be announced on October 4.
