Recently Chief Secretary said that his administration will embark on a prestigious project to identify 1.37 lakh entrepreneurs.

The survey, to be done jointly by Labour & Employment (L&E) and Planning Departments, aims identification of around 1.37 lakh potential entrepreneurs besides seeking feedback from the existing enterprises.

Present on the occasion were Vice Chancellors of UT Universities,  Secretary, L&E Department, DG, E&S, Director, IIM Jammu, MD, JK Bank, MD, JKRLM and representatives from IIT Jammu, NABARD,  BISAG-N besides other concerned officers while Deputy Commissioners joined the event through video conferencing.

Addressing on the occasion, the Chief Secretary highlighted the significance of this survey besides the original motive of handholding the youth ready to adopt entrepreneurship and self employment as job avenues. He called upon the concerned departments to ensure accurate through regular monitoring of the whole exercise. He suggested the Vice-Chancellors of different Universities to further utilise this data in accomplishing various research papers.

He enjoined upon the Labour & Employment department to constitute a team of experts from concerned departments with faculty members from different Universities and National Institutes. This will help in laying an analytical framework to develop a well meaning document out of these analytics at the end of this survey, he added.
