SRINAGAR: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday commended the efforts of engineers and construction workers who worked tirelessly to bring the Z-Morh Tunnel to fruition.
After inaugurating the tunnel, PM Modi interacted with the workers and engineers involved in the project. The workers took photographs with the Prime Minister and briefed him on the tunnel’s construction.
Earlier, PM Modi arrived in Sonamarg in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district and dedicated the much-awaited Z-Morh Tunnel to the nation.
Union Ministers Nitin Jairam Gadkari, Dr Jitendra Singh, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, and other dignitaries were present at the event.
The 6.5-kilometer-long Z-Morh Tunnel is set to make Sonamarg accessible from Srinagar year-round, overcoming the harsh winter conditions that previously hindered connectivity. (KNO)
