Responsive administration
In the back drop of recent public complaints about the problems they faced in the severe winter, government has responded by establishing public grievance camps.
Initially, the public grievance camp was established in Srinagar and many officers listened to the public grievances and many delegations appraised them about day to day problems being faced by them.
Official spokesman said that during the day long progremme held recently in Srinagar nearly 30 delegations, besides individuals from across several districts Jammu and Kashmir including, Srinagar, Budgam, Anantnag, Baramulla, Ganderbal, Kulgam, Pulwama, among other areas met the Administrative Secretaries and highlighted their issues. During the camp several service matter cases were also taken up. The deputations sought an early redress from the Government.
Huge number of delegations impressed upon the officials to create a mechanism so that grievances and demands were met by time bound manner. They also appeal the authorities that people have lot of problems and the need of the hour was the responsive administration on ground so that such complaints do not pile up without any reddressal.
There has been lot of problems faced by general public in this winter especially after several heavy snowfalls. In most of the rural areas people have complained they did not see any visible administration ground and most of their villages remained cut off for weeks as there were not snow clearance operations.
Another problem highlighted by the delegations was about the overall power shortage and the slow process of setting right the transformers which get burned due to overload in most of the villages.
