Two day visit
Twenty four ambassadors are on a two day visit to Kashmir after the recently held DDC elections and earlier government conducted panchayat elections also and is keen to showcase this achievement on the ground to these envoys so that they understand the situation of Kashmir on the ground.
The ambassadors from the EU, France, Malaysia, Brazil, Italy, Finland, Bangladesh, Cuba, Chile, Portugal, the Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, Sweden, Senegal, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Ireland, Ghana, Estonia, Bolivia, Malawi, Eritrea and Ivory Coast are in the Kashmir valley and are likely to meet many delegations including from the DDC members who were recently elected.
During their stay in Kashmir, the delegation members are likely to meet the district development council members and civil society representatives, media reports have suggested so far.
The foreign envoys according to the officials are going to Jammu region also and are going to have meetings not only with the civil society but also with different limbs of administration in order to get the feel of ground situation prevailing in that region also.
Earlier JK administration had geared up its men and machinery to clean the roads and to give a face lift to all those routes which were likely to be visited by these envoys while being in Srinagar.
