Nine injured in north Kashmir road accident
At least nine persons were injured after a passenger cab they were on board met with an accident in Chowkibal area on Sunday morning.
Reports reaching GNS said that a sumo bearing registration number JK-09 1093 skidded of the road and fell into a deep gorge along Budnamal road in Chowkibal. In the incident, nine persons sustained injuries and were evacuated to SDH Kralpora for immediate treatment.
A police official concerned confirming the incident to GNS said that all the injured have been lifted from the accident site to a nearby hospital for treatment. The official in the meantime identified the injured passengers as; Gh Rasool Lone (70) son of Ab Jabber Lone, Gh Mohd Lone (55) son of Gh Rasool Lone, Gh Hassan Lone (70) son of Rahim Lone, Gazila Manzoor (19) daughter of Manzoor Ahmad Lone, Shahid Iqbal Lone (26) son of Gh Nabi Lone, Zahida Begum (34) wife of Billal Ahmad Shiekh, Gh. Mohd Sheikh (55) son of Habbullah Shiekh, Anaytaullah Lone (22) son of Manzoor Ahmad Lone all residents of Budnamal and Ghulam Mohuiddin Payer (45) son of Abdul Rehman Payer a resident of Sonthipora Kralpora.
Few of the patients with relatively serious injuries are said to have been referred to SDH Kupwara for advanced treatment, the official added. (GNS)
