While even the political parties have reacted to the seizing of two wheelers across Kashmir valley in the past two days, the IGP Kashmir has responded and said that due to the militancy related incidents some internet towers were snapped and the seizing of bikes has nothing to do with the upcoming visit of Union Home Minister Amit Shah to Jammu and Kashmir.
He in a tweet on Thursday said, “Kashmir Zone Police while quoting IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar wrote, “Seizing some bikes and shutting down the internet of some towers is purely related to militancy violence’s. It has nothing to do with the visit of the Hon’ble HM”.
However on Thursday also many youth told media outlets that their two wheelers were seized without any reason by police and also they were being frisked. There has been intensified frisking on the roads of Srinagar and also in the other parts of Kashmir in the past few days as the police have been on alert apparently due to the upcoming visit of Amit Shah to Jammu and Kashmir.
It’s pertinent to mention that frisking and seizing of two wheelers have been intensified after recent civilian killings in Srinagar.
