DC Srinagar reviews ABDP for Khonmoh & Harwan Blocks
Government sanctions funds for key Public infrastructure push: DC
SRINAGAR, JULY 29: In order to review the plans for implementation of Aspirational Block Development Programme (ABDP) in Harwan and Khonmoh Blocks of Srinagar District, a meeting of the Officers of line Departments was held today under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz Asad in Conference Hall of the DC Office Complex, here.
At the outset, the DC took a detailed review of the sector wise activities being carried out by the concerned Departments in Harwan and Khonmoh Blocks of the district taken up under Aspirational Block Development Programme based on 10 performance indicators covering various aspects including Poverty, Health and Nutrition, Education and Basic Infrastructure development of the concerned Block.
While reviewing the developmental plan of Khonmoh Block, the DC finalized the plan for 5 Smart Kindergarten Schools being developed on modern lines at a cost of Rs. 30 lakh to improve the performance indicators. Besides improving learning outcomes in the Block, Smart Classes are a step towards Digital Education.
With regard to enhancing skill development and creating employment opportunities for local youth Vocational Centres are also being established for which Rs 31.92 lakh were earmarked.
Similarly, to strengthen the health infrastructure in Khonmoh Block and catering all sort of emergencies at NTPHC, Zewan to provide better facilities to the people, a plan of procuring Automatic BioChemistry Analyse, Delivery Table with Multi Para Monitor and Baby Warmer was finalized.
While, proposal for construction of 2 Foot bridges under the RDD sector in the Block under convergence was also finalized to augment the rural infrastructure catering around 500 souls, besides generating man-days under MGNREGA.
On the occasion, the DC directed for construction of Composite Health and Nutrition Centre for Children at Sangri area of Khonmoh Block to augment the nutritional status of women and children along with improving the primary healthcare facilities in the Block. An amount of Rs 18 lakh was also earmarked for completion of the work.
Similarly, the ABDP-Plan for Harwan Block of the district was also discussed in detail and finalized by the DC.
Under the Education Sector, Rs 27.3 lakh plan for establishment of 2 Smart Classrooms at Boys Middle School and Primary School Barainaar and establishment of 3 Smart kindergartens at Gujarpati Dara, Faqir Gujri and Mulnar was finalized. The Establishment of Vocational Training Centre at Boys High School Harwan at a cost of Rs 10.54 was also given nod by the DC.
Under the Agriculture sector, to increase the yield, a plan for provision of Micro irrigation was also approved through which the area for micro irrigation will be uniformly distributed across all Panchayat Halqas.
To augment the health infrastructure at PHC Harwan, Rs 22 lakh plan for procurement of Digital X-ray with CR system was also finalized in the meeting.
Besides, construction of 2 Foot bridges under the RDD sector in the Harwan Block under convergence was also finalized.
While, proposal for construction of Composite Health & Nutrition Centre for Children was also finalized for which Rs 18 lakh were earmarked.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC exhorted upon the officers of line and works departments to work in coordinated manner for effective implementation of the programme on ground. He said ABDP is a timeline based programme and requires execution of all activities at a fast pace.
The DC said the Government has rolled out Aspirational Block Development Programme (ABDP) with an aim to ensure expeditious improvement in the Socio-Economic status of most backward Blocks across the J&K.
He further asked the concerned Departments to adopt best practices so as to get tangible results on ground in a time bound manner.
Chief Planning Officer, Mohammad Yaseen Lone, Chief Agriculture Officer, Mohammad Younis Chowdary, Chief Medical Officer, Dr Jameel, Assistant Commissioner Development, Syed Farooq, Deputy Chief Education Officer, Dr Anjum Raja, District Panchayat Officer, Kundanbir Kour, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, Dr Syed Abas, Block Development Officer, Mehnaz Chishti, besides other concerned were present in the meeting.
