PUF Sit-In: Er Rasheed seeks immediate enquiry into the death of 3 persons in Tanghdar
Srinagar:Expressing deep shock over the loss of three lives in Tangdhar due to the electrocution, AIP president Er Rasheed said on Wednesday sought the ex-gratia and other genuine benefits for the families of victims.
Rasheed urged Governor Satpal Malik to initiate an immediate and time-bound enquiry to find by whose negligence the three innocent civilians lost their lives.
The sit-in organized by People United Front (PUF) seeking tunnel for Karnah and Gurez entered the second day today and people from different walks of life participated in the sit-in and expressed their solidarity with the noble cause, the spokesman said.
Those who visited the sit-in site included students, lawyers, traders, members of civil society and prominent citizens from Karnah and Gurez. “Government must listen to peaceful voices and if such voices go unheard it will create serious negative ramifications. While masses need to speak in one voice against injustices they face, the government must change its behaviour and should discharge its duties without politicizing everything,” the spokesman quoted Rasheed as saying.
