Sarjan Barkati’s family reaches Srinagar to protest his detention
Srinagar:The family members and relatives of Sarjan Barkati held a protest in press enclave on Wednesday morning demanding Barkati’s release on immediate basis.

Barkati was arrested in 2016 and since then he is lodged in Jammu jail. Expressing deep concern, Barkati’s daughter, Sudra Barkati, while talking to the media persons said;” Some days back, an unknown person tried to attack my mother, and since then we feel we are in danger and insecure without our father.”
According to Sudra, there are nearly 57 cases against Barkati and he has been slapped with the Public Safety Act (PSA) many times.

The family urged the incumbent government to release Barkati on an immediate basis as the family goes through a huge financial problem and other issues.
