Education has been suffering in Jammu and Kashmir due to turmoil in past three decades in general. In particular since August 5, last year student community in Jammu and Kashmir has been at the receiving end of the situation as the clampdown of the central government resulted in closure of all educational institutions followed by suspension of internet services, telephones and other means of communication.

While the telephones were restored after several months of blockade, but high speed internet services remained suspended in Jammu and Kashmir for the past ten months it has given a severe blow to the education system as the student have failed to remain in touch with all competitive examinations as their virtual classrooms have got disrupted by low speed internet.

Recently government indicated that they will open the educational institutions in the month of June as they have decided not to lift curbs from 4G internet services in Jammu and Kashmir.

Schools were slated to be opened in the first week of June as the secretary education was quoted in local media saying the same. However the latest development in the UT administration is not a good news for students as they have decided to keep educational institutions closed till June 15, 2020.

With curbs on internet and closed educational institutions student community in Kashmir is caught between the devil and deep sea. They are suffering for the reasons only known to administration and with the result they are losing cutting edge of competition also.
