Div Com inspects work progress on Jammu-Akhnoor Road Project
Directs executing agencies to set weekly, monthly targets
JAMMU, FEBRUARY 28: Divisional Commissioner, Sanjeev Verma today directed National Highway Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) to set weekly and monthly targets and expedite the progress of work on 4 lanning of Jammu-Akhnoor Raod Project for its timely completion.
The Div Com passed these directions during his tour to Muthi, Paloura area to inspect the progress of work on 4 laning of Jammu-Akhnoor Raod Project. He was accompanied by General Manager NHIDCL, R P Mishra, SDM, North Jammu, Tehsildar concerned, site inspectors and other concerned officers.
During the tour, the Div Com visited various spots and inspected the ongoing works there.
The NHIDCL officials apprised the Div Com about the present status of work on prestigious road project, besides progress achieved so far and future work plan.
It was informed that out of 127 pillars of Canal Head to Muthti flyover, 88 pillars have been raised and work on package 2 and 3 is in progress, while efforts are on to adhere to the weekly targets set for completion of the entire stretch.
The Div Com instructed the NHIDCL officers to repair and black top the pot holes on the existing road for smooth flow of traffic.
The Div Com also inquired about progress on land acquisition, structure removal and disbursement of compensation. He was informed that land acquisition and disbursement of compensation to land owners is almost complete, while work on pending structure removal is in progress.
The Div Com asked the concerned officers for early completion of structure removal work and overcoming other bottlenecks for smooth execution of work.
