Two killed, many injured in separate road mishaps

Two persons were killed and many others were injured in separate accidents at Ramban area along the Srinagar Jammu highway.
Reports said that a truck (RJ04GB-7727), stranded on the highway, came undershooting stone, resulting into on the spot death of driver Deva Ram of Rajasthan. The other person part of the truck was cooking the food on the roadside and he had a miraculous escape, they said.
In another accident, shooting stone hit another truck (JK05B-1730), carrying LPG cylinders, at Khoni Nallah area. Two persons suffered minor injuries, they said.
Earlier one person was killed while another injured when a Creta vehicle No. JK01AA/9863 on way to Jammu from Srinagar was hit by shooting stones from the mountain near Marog in Ramban.
The deceased was later identified as Waseem Azad, son of Mehraj Din, resident of Munawarabad, Khayam Chowk, Srinagar. The injured, Manzoor Azad, son of Ali Mohd from the same area was shifted to Ramban hospital by police.
In another vehicle (Tavera), bearing registration No. JK02AF/ 0157 was hit by shooting stones at Khuni Nallah in Ramsu area of Ramban, causing injuries to three persons.
The injured were identified as driver-Gulzar Ahmed (21), son of Ghulam Mohd, resident of Shopian; Muzamil Sheikh (34), son of Sheikh Sayed from Bihar and Syed Ahmed (17), son of Muzamil Sheikh from Bihar. The injured were shifted to PHC, Ramsu and then referred to DH Ramban. The front portion of the vehicle was extensively damaged.
Meanwhile, Srinagar-Jammu highway remained blocked due to landslides and shooting stones at several places between Ramban – Banihal stretch, an official said.
A traffic official said that people are advised to undertake the journey on the highway after confirming the status from traffic authorities.
