DM Budgam seizes 6 shops, books 2 shopkeepers for violating lockdown orders
Conducts market checking, urges people to remain indoors to prevent spread of Covid-19
BUDGAM, MARCH 23: The District Magistrate, Budgam, today booked seized six shops and two shopkeepers for violating lockdown orders issued by the district administration as a precautionary measure to contain spread of covid-19 in the district.
The DM led a team of officers including ACR, Deputy SP Headquarter, EO Municipal Committee, SHO Budgam and others concerned to inspect various markets to ensure complete lockdown is being observed in the district.
The inspection was carried out at Budgam market, New Bus Stand, Ompora, Shiekhpora, Humhama, Airport Road and other markets and during which 6 shops were seized and 2 shopkeepers were booked under FIR section No 188 IPC for violation of District Magistrate lockdown orders.
The DM urged shopkeepers, restaurants owners and other business establishments to ensure complete shutdown across the district to contain spread of infection. He also urged public to adhere to section 144 orders and stay indoors to avoid crowd and public gatherings for their and others safety.
He said the team will conduct daily inspections to ensure all shops accept exempted by the government are closed and stringent action as per the law will be taken against the offenders found involving in violation of lockdown or section 144 orders anywhere in the district.
Earlier, the DM also visited various quarantine facilities to take first hand appraisal of arrangements there for Covid-19 suspected in the district.
