Prime Minister Narendra Modi today addressed nation and said that lockdown will continue till May 3, 2020. He did this announcement after lot of consultations with all the stakeholders in politics and bureaucracy. He asked administrative machinery to be very strict while implementing the lockdown from 14 up to April 20, 2020.
He indicated that if the severe lockdown of one week will show some positive results on ground, restrictions would be eased to some extent in those areas where the administration will feel so. Although guidelines for the next spell of lockdown will be announced tomorrow, but there are enough indications that there would be some good news for migrant laborers, people living below the poverty line and farmers.
Farming activity is likely to get green signal as the harvest season many varieties has begun. Government is likely to allow the farm produce to be brought to mandees and the further transportation of this produce would be allowed to other states.
Despite all these likely measures to be taken by the government, there is enough trouble on the ground as a good number of people and poor families are already asking the question, how far?
Any such families have indicated that they would be killed by hunger sooner than coronavirus if the authorities will not ease the restrictions or arrange food for their survival. Many workers in the private and unorganized sector have said that they are not getting their salaries and it has resulted in acute problems, threating in their bare survival.
