JKPCC President writes to LG
Srinagar April 30 (KNS): Amid ongoing Covid 19 lockdown, The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress (JKPCC) President has written a letter to Lt. Governor J&K, suggesting various measures that are required to be taken under the current depressing situation.
Apart from other things, the JKPCC President G.A. Mir has drawn the attention of G.C. Murmu to the pressing need of internet, which is a fundamental right of the people, cannot be taken away.
According to KNS , G.A.Mir told LG in his letter that Internet being an important part of modern life, having the potential to enable every section of the society especially students, doctors, etc to achieve their targets, in their respective fields like in other states people are enjoying this vital facility, the letter reads.
In wake of Covid 19, the patients with life threating diseases can easily consult their Doctors and get online advises or treatment, but the absence of internet has added further problems to them on account of their immediate required treatment. The Security agencies have not even opposed internet even during the peak years of militancy.
The letter emphasized the LG to take up the issue with MHA to ensure that 4G internet is restored in J&K.
It would have been advisable if the Centre Govt had started evacuating students from Bangladesh and others states of the country before or immediately after the lockdown, but that has not happened, the letter reads, emphasizing that Students from Bangladesh or within the country, besides Labourers and Patients should be brought back to their places, at right earnest.
The letter further reads that there should be a single window helpline for the students, Labours, patients, currently stuck up due to lockdown, which should also work to the best of their satisfaction, as that, there has been numerous complaints that Helplines announced by UT Administration not responding.
Mir also urged the LG that the distribution of free ration should be supervised, so that the same could reach directly to poor and needy in every district in J&K
JKPCC President also informed the LG that there were various complaints of lack of facilities in quarantine Centre especially in South Kashmir while expressing serious concern over the testing capacity, which is not satisfactory, needs to intensified, the letter reads.
JKPCC President also hailed the decision of MHA of allowing labourers etc, stuck up in different States to go home after May 3rd.
Mir in his letter also appreciated LG G.C.Murm, entire UT Administration, Doctors, Civil and Police Administration over dealing with the current frightening situation, with great enthusiasm, besides ensuring possible facilities and safety to people.(KNS)
