Bulletin on Novel Corona Virus (COVID-19)
25 new positive cases reported today, 303 cases recovered till date in JK
JAMMU, MAY 04: The Government Monday informed that 25 new positive cases of novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), 01 from Jammu division and 24 from Kashmir division, have been reported today thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 726.
According to the daily Media Bulletin on novel coronavirus (Covid-19), out of 726 positive cases, 415 are Active Positive, 303 have recovered and 08 have died.
Moreover, 16 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals from Kashmir Division.
The Bulletin further said that out of 28199 test results available, 27473 samples have tested as negative till May 04, 2020.
Furthermore, till date 77656 travellers and persons in contact with suspected cases have been enlisted for surveillance which included 11850 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 182 in Hospital Quarantine, 415 in hospital isolation and 7232 under home surveillance. Besides, 57969 persons have completed their surveillance period.
Providing district-wise breakup, the Bulletin said that Bandipora reported 02 positive cases making a total of 130 positive cases with 68 Active Positive, 61 recovered (including 6 recovered today), 01 death; Anantnag district has 109 positive cases with 107 Active Positive, 01 recovered, 01 death; Srinagar reported 03 cases today making it 109 positive cases with 32 Active Positive, 75 recovered (including 05 recovery today), 02 deaths; Baramulla reported 12 cases today, totaling to 103 positive cases with 61 Active Positive, 39 recovered ( including 05 recoveries today), 03 deaths; with 02 fresh cases today, Shopian has 83 positive, 64 Active Positive, 19 recovered; Kupwara has 66 positive cases with 43 Active Positive, 23 recovered; Budgam also reported 04 new cases today thus taking total of positive cases to 30 wherein 18 are Active Positive and 12 recovered cases; Ganderbal has 14 positive cases and all of them have recovered; Kulgam has 11 positive cases with 08 Active Positive and 03 recoveries; Pulwama reported 01 positive case, thus district has 09 positive cases with 06 active positive, 03 recovered.
Similarly, Jammu has 27 positive cases with 1 active positive case reported today and 26 have recovered; Udhampur 20 positive cases, 19 recovered and 01 death, while as Samba has 07 positive cases wherein 03 are Active Positive and 04 have recovered; Rajouri has 04 positive cases, 01 active positive and 03 have recovered; Kathua has 01 positive case who is active positive; Kishtwar had only 01 positive case who has recovered. Ramban and Reasi districts each have one positive case which is active positive.
The Bulletin said that the breakup represents districts from which the patients have been traced or are ordinarily residing.
The bulletin informed the people that several activities shall continue to remain prohibited across the Union Territory of J&K, irrespective of the categorisation of the districts, till further orders.
The advisory says all schools, colleges, universities, educational/ training/ coaching institutions, etc. shall remain closed. However, online/distance learning shall be permitted, all social/ political/ sports/ entertainment/ academic/ cultural/ religious functions/ other gatherings and all religious places/places of worship shall be closed for public, no movement of individuals in ALL areas between 7 PM and 7 AM, no movement without passes, Medical emergencies exempted, prohibition on all Inter-state, Inter-district and intra-district buses for public transport and private vehicles, all cinema halls, shopping malls, gymnasiums, sports complexes, swimming pools, entertainment parks, theaters, bars, liquor shops, restaurants, spas, saloons, parlours, barber shops and auditoriums, assembly halls and similar places, except where permitted in specific categories of districts under Govt. Order No. 49-JK (DMRRR) of 2020 dated 03/05/2020 besides· persons above 65 years of age, persons and with co-morbidities, pregnant women, and children below the age of 10 years, shall stay at home, except for meeting essential requirements or for health purposes.
In order to minimize the risk of getting infected with Novel Coronavirus, the advisory issued in the media bulletin urged people to follow Social Distancing which is one of the most effective precautionary measures to limit the spread of COVID-19.
As a measure for social distancing in public places & workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory.

Public is advised to strictly follow the advisories issued by the government from time to time and are urged to rely only on the information released by the government through the daily media bulletin to print and electronic media.
People are also advised to refrain from spreading rumours and pay no heed to them at the same time.
