Div Com asks DCs for massive sampling in districts
Focus on vegetable sellers, shopkeepers, barbers, other target groups
JAMMU, MAY 30: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Sanjeev Verma, today asked the Deputy Commissioners of Jammu division and Health functionaries to conduct massive sampling and testing for COVID-19 to contain further spread of infection.
The Divisional Commissioner passed these directions while chairing a meeting convened with Deputy Commissioners of the division to review the mechanism put in place by district administrations to combat the spread of the pandemic.
The meeting was attended by Additional Commissioner Jammu, R K Sangral, Director Health Services Jammu, Renu Sharma, Senior Superintendent of Police Jammu, Shridhar Patil , RTO Jammu, Dhananter Singh and senior functionaries of Horticulture, Industries & Commerce, JMC while all Deputy Commissioners of Jammu division along with Senior Superintendents of Police, Chief Medical Officers attended the meeting through video conferencing.
The meeting had threadbare discussions on various issues related to combat mechanism put in place by district administrations. The DCs informed that they are collecting samples of each returnee in the district.
The Div Com asked Deputy Commissioners to lay focus on target groups and go for massive sample collections for Covid-19 tests. He also asked them to scale up their per day numbers of sampling.
The Div Com advised them to ensure testing of vegetable and fruit sellers, shopkeepers and other target groups as a preventive measure to combat the spread of this contagion.
