Elderly Sopore Woman Tests Covid-19 Positive After Death, J&K Toll 92
Srinagar- A 70-year-old woman from Sopore tested positive for Covid-19 a day after her death, taking the number of fatalities due to the disease in Jammu and Kashmir to 92, officials said.
The woman from Sopore area of north Kashmir died at the SMHS hospital here late Friday evening, the officials said.
They said she was admitted to the hospital on Thursday and was suffering from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and pneumonia.
Her sample was taken on Friday and it returned as positive, the officials said.
With her death, the death toll in J&K due to COVID-19 has reached 92 — 81 in Valley and 11 in Jammu division.
Srinagar, with 22 deaths tops the list of Covid-19 fatalities followed by 15 in Baramulla, 11 in Kulgam, 10 in Shopian, seven each in Budgam & Jammu, six in Anantnag, five in Kupwara, four in Pulwama and one each in Bandipora, Udhampur, Doda, Poonch and Rajouri districts.
