Baramulla Admin to go tough against Covid19 SOP violators
Baramulla Adminstration has decided to take strict action against the violators of Standard Operating Procedure (SOP)in the district.
Deputy Commissioner Baramulla G N Itoo in a presser today asked the officials to go tough against the SOP voilators.
” We have see women along with their kids roaming in markets without wearing masks or following social distance norms. We have constituted a special team of female officials to check violations of females in markets.”
He added number of joint teams of Police and civil administration would ensure SOP is strictly adhered by people in the district.
” I directed the officers to take action against the violators and slap a fine of Rs 100 to Rs 1000 on them,” he said.
He added that shopkeepers and other elderly people who are above the age of 60 years should not come out of their homes.
He also said that administration has
taken a decesion to conduct massive testing and sampling particularly of service providers.
Dr Itoo said distrct has registered 1291 Covid19 cases, most of them are from Sopore followed by Sheeri which includes Baramulla town also and least cases in Uri. Notably first Covid19 case was registered in Uri.
” When we decided to unlock; we were expecting people will adhere to SOPs . But we witnessed people unnecessarily thronging markets. We observed people are not observing SOPs. Now reality is due to careless approach of people, we lost thirty two lives in the district and 95% of them were old age people and were suffering from other illnesses and even young people who were affected with it were also involved in some other illnesses also”
He appealed people not to take it casually as medial experts have predicted that there are tough days ahead if people don’t adhere to SOPs. “We appeal people to adhere to SOPs and move out of houses only when necessarily.” (KNS)
