At a time when whole world is gripped amid fear of Covid-19, the UT of J&K has witnessed a surge in the deaths and active fresh positive cases from past few days, the governments imitative to open community schools across Kashmir is a bit worrying for the parents and administration too.
A group of parents from Lawaypora ,Dangerpora and Rafiabad area of Baramulla said that, this pandemic covid-19 has taken an ugly turn with each passing day.
“Hardly any day passes when it is being witnessed that 3-4 deaths happen in the UT of Jammu and Kashmir, the authorities at the helm of affairs are hardly bothered about the safety of our children”, said a local resident of baramulla
Gulam ud din said that, though fact cannot be denied that education sector has badly hit from past one year or so, but given the fact that, safety of the children come first, nobody knows who is going to target this deadly virus.
A well know doctor while talking to KNS said that, the virus has changed its shape and it is become virulent now, as it was already predicted and experienced that, it may spread in our communities, and hence today it seems like that.
Schooling, or community schooling is only possible when our school going kids are safe from virus, now the virus hardly checks the age group, recently it has taken young lives and old aged patients are already at risk, said a doctor.
However most of the people opine that, the authorities must ponder over this issue, everything can be regained, but once somebody loss his/her life that can’t be taken back.
Both government and private schools are shut since past 10 months, but this virus is a natural catastrophe, and nobody wants that their children should sit back in their homes, adding situation demands that community schools should be run two days only in a week, said an educationist from Budgam area.
Sources said that, one fails to understand that who is affected, who has come into contact of this pandemic, the teachers from other areas should restrict themselves to their homes only, and otherwise they can put the lives of others at risk, online classes should be continued without any delay.
Education department has sacrificed a lot, even teachers have also not left any stone unturned in their professional duties, and they must continue to teach their students from their homes only through online mode.
Government must suspend the community classes with an immediate effect, and they should re impose the lockdown again in the entire UT of Jammu and Kashmir, only then one could be able to break the chain of this deadly virus, said sources. (KNS)
