Progress of developmental works reviewed in Kupwara
KUPWARA, AUGUST 06: The District Administration Kupwara today reviewed the progress of development works and COVID-19 containment measures in all blocks of the district.
The review meeting was held under the chairmanship of Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Kupwara, Mohammad Ashraf Bhat.
It was informed in the meeting that Rs.48 lakh have been sanctioned viz. Rs.2 lakh to each block of the district for COVID containment efforts.
The ADDC on the occasion asked the BDC chairpersons to submit the Action Plan for utilization of this amount in their respective blocks with no margin for masks and fumigation.
He stressed upon them to involve all PRIs as well as volunteers and the general public to make mass awareness at grass roots level regarding usage of masks, frequent hand washing and maintenance of social distancing.
The meeting was also informed that as many as 8 lakh masks have been distributed among the public by District Panchayat Officers.
The ADDC also directed BDC chairpersons to prepare an Action Plan for Rs.25 lakh each block which has recently been announced by the Government as Block Development Fund besides they were also instructed to prioritize works under Back to Village Programme in consultation with respective Block Development Officers.
Among others the meeting was attended by Chairpersons of Block Development Council and District Panchayat Officer.
