Former Chief Minister and PDP President Mehbooba Mufti has walked to freedom after 14 months of detention and her release was sudden and surprising.

Mehbooba Mufti has been most vocal against New Delhi before the abrogation of article 370 and tried her best to get her supporters on the ground before the clampdown during the intervening night of August 4 and 5, 2019.

Soon after her release she in an audio message on twitter said that she will never forget the humiliation and rubbery of the central government against the people of Jammu and Kashmir and said that she will not rest unless she will get back what has been snatched by the BJP government.

Normally the mainstream political leaders after their release remained silent for weeks and months before making any statements against the BJP government but the Mehbooba Mufti has broken the glass ceiling.

She has conveyed to New Delhi that her resolve has not been broken by her continued detention and she refused to sign any bond in the detention period when she was reportedly offered the freedom to move out.

Mehbooba Mufti would be watched not only by her party colleagues and other mainstream political leaders of Kashmir but also by New Delhi as she has shown that she will start the political fight right on the streets then going on the courts to get article 370 restored.
