South Kashmir: 2nd militant surrenders after hectic persuasion: IGP Kashmir
One militant was killed while another militant surrendered before security forces in an ongoing operation in Noorpora area of Tral in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
Inspector General of Police Kashmir Vijay Kumar told GNS that one militant was killed in intial exchange of firing, while the second militant who was trapped inside the encounter site agreed to surrender after hectic persuasion by the police and army.
Its pertinent to mention that two newly recruited Al-Badr militants also surrendered before security forces in Sopore last week.
Earlier, Reports reaching GNS that a joint team of Police and army’s 42RR launched a cordon and search operation in Noorpora.
As the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the forces, triggering off an gunfight.(GNS)
