Heat on Congress
After the participation in the PAGD meeting, Congress has come under barrage of criticism from BJP questioning them how they are rubbing shoulders with anti-nationals. BJP has dubbed PAGD as an anti-national platform which is working to weaken the nation’s unity. In this context, many BJP leaders have said that Congress poses an explanation to the nation how they are for the restoration of the article 370.
Recently PAGD released names of the joint candidates for the upcoming District Development Council (DDC) polls. The candidates were drawn from Congress and other six parties, which are part of the Alliance and its fight for restoring Article 370. The eight phase DDC polls for 280 seats begin from November 28, results of which will be declared in December.
JK Congress chief Ghulam Ahmad Mir said that his party has entered into an electoral alliance with the Gupkar Alliance and they are yet to decide whether they have joined it completely.
This stance of Congress is very confusing for the people and even for the opposition parties. At the start of the Gupkar Declaration they have signed it and after the release of Mehbooba Mufti when PAGD meeting was held JK Congress Chief skipped that meeting saying that they could not attend the meeting due to his health reasons.
After sometime he said that the decision to be the part of PAGD would be taken by the central leadership. JK Congress even announced participation in the DDC polls even before the decision was taken by PAGD.
