ED to attach 12 properties of Farooq Abdullah
Srinagar: Enforcement Directorate is likely to attach the properties of former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Dr Farooq Abdullah.
“We have received an order from New Delhi and the assets of Farooq Abdullah will be attached soon,” Srinagar based top ED official told KNT.
Farooq Abdullah immovable assets in different parts of Jammu and Kashmir including posh Gupkar, Ganderbal, Soura, Tangmarg, Soura and Bhatandi Jammu.
The ED official said that assets worth Rs 11.86 crore of Farooq Abdullah will be attached with regard to his role in Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association Scam that surfaced in 2012 when National Conference-Congress coalition government ruled in Jammu and Kashmir.
“The order we received mentions the name of Dr Farooq Abdullah and some others,” the official said.
He said ED has issued a provisional attachment order under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act and the properties will be sealed shortly.
The official said 12 properties of Farooq Abdullah will be sealed. These properties include Residential Building on the land at Estate Sonwar (Gupkar Road), Tehsil Srinagar (South), District Srinagar, Four Commercial Buildings on the land at Estate Kothibagh, Tehsil Srinagar (South), District Srinagar, Residential Building / construction at Katipora, Tehsil Tanmarg (District Baramulla, Zoonimar, Tehsil Eidgah, District Srinagar, Katipora, Tehsil Tanmarg, District Baramulla, Khallamulla, Tehsil Ganderbal, District Ganderbal, Village Sunjwan, Bhatindi, Tehsil Bahu, District Jammu, Land at Estate Sonwar (Gupkar Road), Tehsil Srinagar (South), District Srinagar, Land at Estate Kothibagh, Tehsil Srinagar (South), District Srinagar, where Dr. Farooq Abdullah is lessee, Balance leased land out of 10 Kanal& 15 Marla at Estate Kothibagh, Tehsil Srinagar (South), District Srinagar valued at ₹ 6,46,99,259, where Dr. Farooq Abdullah holds 1/3rd share, Village Sunjwan, Bhatindi (Jammu), State and Forest land occupied by Dr. Farooq Abdullah, Khasra No. 04 (State Land), Khasra Nos. 05 &06 (Forest Land), Residential House at Village Sunjwan, Bhatindi, Tehsil Bahu, District Jammu, on State and Forest Land at Village Sunjwan, Bhatindi (Jammu), Khasra No. 04 (State Land) and Khasra Nos. 05 & 06 (Forest Land).
