We are already in the second month of 2021, and the tourist footfall was not as massive as expected by the locals because Kashmir received a string of snowfall, turning virtually this valley into a blanket of white.

Due to the efforts of local tourist trade bodies along with some efforts by the local administration, many prominent personalities came to Kashmir during the snow and became its ambassadors for the rest.

In these directions recently a huge team from bollywood was here in order to see the locations for the forthcoming film as the central government is trying to promote Kashmir again as the tourist industry here is grasping for breath.

Recently the central government in a written reply told parliament that there has been a massive decline in the tourist arrivals to Kashmir valley since August 5, 2019, and added that efforts were on to bring back tourists and revive this industry.

Due to the 18 months long dry season so far, thousands of youth connected directly or indirectly with the tourism trade have suffered job losses and they are still hoping that there would be a massive revival in the coming spring season so that they get back their jobs.

Similarly hoteliers, houseboat owners are also waiting figures crossed for the visible change on the ground with the arrival tourists so that they can come out from the debt as they owe a lot of money to different financial institutions including banks.
