Principal Secretary I&C holds interactions with various Industrial and Hotel Associations
JAMMU, MARCH 10: Principal Secretary, Industries and Commerce (I&C) Department, Ranjan Prakash Thakur today held series of interactions with various Industrial and Hotel Associations at Udyog Bhawan here in order to get an insight into the issues being faced by them.
Rahul Sahai, Chairman PHDCCI-J&K, raised the issue of infrastructural bottlenecks like availability of Water and Power and called for simplification of procedures and implementation of Single Window Clearance system in J&K. The representatives also raised issue of differential power tariff structure on Hotels and Industries despite Hotels being accorded the status of Industries.
Ravnish Gulati, President, CII called for providing thrust to Food Processing Industry and freezing of power tariff for Industrial Units in J&K.They also discussed Market Support to Local Industrial Units under Government-e-Marketplace and delayed payments for supplies made to Government Departments.
Satish Kaul, President J&K Pharma Association requested creation of institutes for skill development and establishment of Pharmacy college in Jammu region.
The representatives from Agro-Chemical and Pesticides Units raised the issue of Contract Manufacturing and Ease of Doing Business.
Arun Gupta, President Chamber of Commerce and Industries raised the issue of non-applicability of GST Linked Incentive for existing units.
Annil Suri, an entrepreneur demanded implementation of Production Linked Incentives for manufacturing units of J&K.
Rakesh Wazir, President Hotel Association of Katra while welcoming the new Central Sector Scheme for Industrial Development of J&K suggested development of ropeways, rides and parks where tourist footfall is high. He also sought power tariff to Hotels at par with Industries.
The Principal Secretary gave a patient hearing to all the issues raised by the delegations and assured that due care shall be taken during implementation of different policies here. He added that concrete steps will be taken so that existing processes are simplified for entrepreneurs here.
He acknowledged the issues being faced by Industries in J&K and assured them that they will be looked into meticulously for their early resolution.
Managing Director, J&K SIDCO Mohammad Harun, Director Industries & Commerce Jammu, Anoo Malhotra, Joint Director (Dev) Industries and Commerce Jammu Ved Parkash along with other officers of the Department were also present during the interactions.
