Mainstream political parties including PDP and National Conference have welcomed the recent positive statements for the peace and development coming out in Islamabad and New Delhi.
National Conference in a statement said that the thaw in the Indo-Pakistan relations is bound to have a positive impact on the people of Jammu and Kashmir who have for long bore the maximum brunt of escalation of tensions on the Line of Control (LoC) and the International Border (IB) between the two neighbors.
There is no denying of the fact that such border shelling has resulted in huge losses on the people living alongside the borders and with the renewed Indo-Pak engagement, they will be able to have a sigh of relief, and will live their normal lives.
People of Jammu and Kashmir have been witnessing this death and destruction for decades and they are welcoming the path of peace between India and Pakistan by their hearts as they want to come out from this cycle of violence.
As of today it seems that there will be forward movement on the dialogue process between India and Pakistan as they have worked on the ground level for months together to come out from hostility and mutual hatred.
People of Jammu and Kashmir are waiting for the situation to improve between the two nations so that they can have their normal lives and it will result in peace and development of the entire region.
