Budgam forests searched, arms recovered

A tip of security forces along with police searched some forest village in Khan Sahib area of Budgam and recovered arms and ammunition.
According to the news agency KNT Police recovered a cache of arms and ammunition in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Saturday.
A police spokesman told KNT that based on the credible input today morning Budgam Police along with soldiers from 53 Rashtriya Rifles launched a search operation in the forest area of village Shanipora Khansaab area of Budgam.
During the search operation incriminating material of proscribed militant outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba and arms and ammunition were recovered which were kept concealed in a bag beneath the bushes in the said forest area.
The recovery includes a Chinese Pistol, a UBGL and its 4 rounds, 4 pistol magazines, 3 radio set antenna and other stuff.
A case vide FIR number 44/2021 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Khansaab and investigation is taken up, said police spokesman.
