Combing operation held in Kulgam forests, arms ammunition recovered

Army, paramilitary forces and police in a joint operation on a tip combed the forest areas in Manzgam village of Kulgam and were able to recover arms and ammunition during the operation.
According to the KNT news agency, in this operation a pika gun, grenades, and bullets were recovered from a militant hideout.
The news agency in its report has said about the operation that Combined Forces on Monday busted a militant hideout and seized a cache of arms and ammunition in a forest area of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district.
Official sources told Kashmir News Trust that Combined Forces including police and soldiers from 34 Rashtriya Rifles busted the hideout during a cordon and search operation in Manzgam forest area in Kulgam.
They said the police received information about the presence of an old militant hideout in the forest area. “Searches were launched during which a militant hideout established under a portion of dense bushes was busted,” Sources added.
They said one Pika machine gun, 126 AK-47 rounds, 2 hand grenades, 34 rounds of Insas rifle, 5 cell phones, 4 chargers, 4 jackets, 3 pouches, 3 blankets, a cutter and a book of holy Quran have been recovered from the hideout.
