V K Singh reviews deployment of SDRF, NDRF personnel in 200 bedded Covid Care Centre at Hazratbal
Center is expected to commence its functioning from June 1
SRINAGAR, MAY 19: Director General of Police, Commandant General Home Guards/Civil Defence and State Disaster Response Force J&K, V.K. Singh, today chaired a meeting regarding deployment of SDRF and NDRF personnel to assist in functioning of 200 bedded Covid Care Centre (including 50 beds with Oxygen Concentrators).
Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Pandurang K Pole, Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz, Director Health Services Kashmir, Dr. Mushtaq Ahmad Rather, Commanding Officer, First Battalion, SDRF, Srinagar, Haseeb Ur Rehman, Epidemiologist, Kashmir, Dr. Talat Jabeen, State Surveillance Officer IDSP, Dr. Jameel Mir and other senior officers and officials attended the meeting.
During the meeting, it was decided that SKIMS Soura will arrange a 3 day training from 19th to 21st May, 2021 in batches of 30 personnel (20 SDRF and 10 NDRF) for performing supporting duties. The training will include components of Covid-19 patient care, nursing care of Covid positive patients, Covid-19 Rapid Antigen Testing, infection control and personal protection, Oxygen Support- Practical issues, visit to Manifold (hands on training) and Donning and doffing of PPE (hands on training). A total of 100 SDRF and 40 NDRF personnel shall be trained and deployed at NIT.
Meanwhile, the meeting had a detailed deliberation on several issues relating to facilities, logistic support including oxygen concentrator and other assistance to make the 200-beded Covid Care Centre at NIT Complex Naseem Bagh, Hazratbal, Srinagar fully functional.
This Covid Care Center is expected to commence its functioning with effect from June 1, 2021 under close supervision and guidance of SKIMS Soura administration.
