2 civilians killed by unidentified gunmen in Anantnag
Two civilians were on Saturday killed by unidentified gunmen in south Kashmir district of Anantnag, official sources said.
They said that unidentified gunmen fired at two civilians — identified as 35-year old dentist Shahnawaz Ahmad Bhat and 20-year-old Sanjeed Ahmad Parray – at Jablipora in Bijbehara at around 2005 hrs. “The injured were immediately taken to a hospital, where they succumbed,” they said.
They said the gunmen managed to escape from the spot under the cover of darkness. “Security forces have been rushed and a search operation has been launched to nab the attackers,” they said, adding police has registered a case and initiated investigation into the incident.
